John Q. Baumann

President & CEO

John Q. Baumann is the President and CEO of Midmark Corporation.

Prior to holding this position, he joined the Midmark Board of Directors in 2009 and was named Chairman in 2013. He leads the company with a focus on Midmark’s vision, values and strategies that support innovation and growth initiatives to increase the efficiency of healthcare.

A highly skilled and award-winning senior executive with more than 35 years of experience, Baumann, a Cincinnati native, began his career in the Cincinnati office of Arthur Andersen in 1979. He left Arthur Andersen to serve as the COO/CFO of Duro Bag Manufacturing, the largest paper bag manufacturer in the world. He joined Fisher Investment Group in 1994 serving as Vice President, Corporate Development.

In 1997, Baumann became President and Chief Executive Officer of Ampac, a Cincinnati-based global leader in creative packaging solutions serving the retail, food, pharmaceutical and security markets. During his tenure, Ampac increased its size twenty-fold; completed twelve acquisitions; and expanded into Europe where it now operates several global manufacturing centers.

Baumann has won numerous awards for leadership and entrepreneurship, including the 2014 Entrepreneur Vision Award from the Entrepreneur Organization of Cincinnati and Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst & Young in 2005. He also brings the leadership experience from several corporate boards, including Bethesda, Inc., KostUSA, and Basco.

Baumann is active with several charities, including Higher Branches, a charity he and his wife Emily founded to help build community in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati. He is also a board member of The Athenaeum of Ohio.

Baumann received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Xavier University.

Sharyl Gardner is Chief Administrative Officer for Midmark Corporation, and serves as Secretary for the Midmark Board of Directors. 

Offering more than two decades of managerial and leadership experience, Gardner oversees all leadership development, training, employee relations, benefits and compensation, marketing communications and corporate/guest services for Midmark. A key and strategic contributor, she has promoted Midmark’s core values and missions, and has assisted in the organizational transformation to support its strategy.

In 2007, Gardner was hired as Vice President of Human Resources for Midmark to help lead and support corporate strategies for continual growth and global market expansion. She previously served as Vice President of Human Resources for Relizon, now Workflow One, in Dayton, Ohio, which employed more than 4,000 people in North America. In addition to her traditional HR duties there, she was responsible for creating a leadership summit to support Relizon’s corporate strategy and introduced a consistent leadership approach throughout the organization. Additionally, she established a core set of principles that guided the leadership’s decisions to facilitate the transformation of corporate culture, while strengthening focus on its strategy. Gardner also maintained a sales leadership position at AT&T, a global telecommunications service provider, where she was employed for eighteen years.

A member of the Miami Valley Senior Human Resources Group and Leadership Dayton Association, Gardner also serves on the ERA (Employer Resource Association) Board of Directors, which provides assistance to employers in Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus and Eastern Indiana. In addition, she is an active member of Professional Women in Healthcare and is a longtime advocate for “Clothes That Work”, a non-profit organization that provides interview appropriate clothing, and personalized confidence building and image services.

Robert (Bob) Morris

Chief Financial Officer



Bob is the Chief Financial Officer for Midmark Corporation.

Bob joined Midmark in 2011 and is the executive leader directing our finance and accounting teams, including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, treasury, risk management, legal and taxation.   

With more than 25 years of professional and managerial experience, prior to joining Midmark, Bob was Vice President, Finance and leader of finance and accounting functions for BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems, a $2 billion supplier of automotive transmission and four-wheel-drive systems. BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems is a strategic business unit of BorgWarner, a NYSE traded company respected for its financial discipline, innovative products and strong international presence. Bob also served as Chief Financial Officer of Michelman, Inc., a multi-national supplier of water-based coating products and performance additives. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in their Greater Cincinnati practice where he became an audit manager, serving his manufacturing and construction clients with audit services and advisory projects with a particular emphasis on start-up companies, acquisition projects and tasks to improve financial reporting capabilities.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The Ohio State University and earned his CPA in the State of Ohio.
