Support now available for VMware Virtual Desktop Interface Environment
DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 23, 2018 — Midmark Corp., a leading medical solutions provider for ambulatory care, today announced an update to Midmark IQpath, a connectivity solution for customers using Midmark diagnostics devices in thin-client environments. In addition to compatibility with Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) and Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) environments, Midmark IQpath v.3.0.1 now offers support for the VMware Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) environment.
“Many IT administrators, especially in large healthcare organizations, have adopted thin-client networks because of ease of management, lower total cost of ownership, better user access control and better security management,” said Y.H. Teng, marketing manager, diagnostic products, Midmark. “But, many applications that are developed for fat-client networks do not work properly in a thin-client environment. With this update, Midmark customers have the connectivity and usability they need to do their work well and stay focused on providing high quality patient care, regardless of their thin-client solution.”
Along with this new version of IQpath, VMware VDI users will also need the new release of plug-ins software for their
IQecg,
IQspiro or
IQvitals products. IQecg plug-in v10.0.4, IQspiro plug-in v10.0.4 and IQvitals plug-in v11.0.3 support IQpath v3.0.1 in the VMware VDI environment. These new plug-ins, along with
IQholter plug-ins v10.0.4, offer additional incremental enhancements for all users regardless of network environment.
