VERSAILLES, Ohio, Jan. 9, 2026 — Midmark Corp., a leading medical solutions provider focused on the design of the clinical environment to improve the delivery of care, today announced that its next generation Midmark M9 and M11 Steam Sterilizers as well as the Midmark 631 Procedure Chair earned the internationally renowned GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.

GOOD DESIGN remains the oldest and most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. Both Midmark products were selected as winners in the medical category based on four key design qualities: product function, aesthetics, ease of use and responsibility/sustainability.

The M9 and M11 Steam Sterilizers are designed for enhanced durability and ease of use, with integrated features to help care teams gain instrument processing and documentation compliance efficiencies. Developed to better meet the accessibility needs of today’s patients, the Midmark 631 Procedure Chair is the first and only U.S. Access Board (USAB) compliant procedure chair. It features a USAB compliant 17-inch low-seat-height (while maintaining a 39-inch high-seat-height), 28- or 32-inch-wide transfer surface and ample base clearance that is compatible with patient lifts, supporting and safe patient transfer with no interference.

“We’re incredibly proud that the Midmark Steam Sterilizers and 631 Procedure Chair have been recognized for their outstanding design and innovation,” said Tracy Timmerman, EDAC, director of marketing at Midmark. “This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to creating smarter, easy to use solutions that enhance safety and the patient-caregiver experience.”

According to its website, the Chicago Athenaeum’s GOOD DESIGN Awards have been presented since 1950 to the world’s most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing visionary and innovative product concepts that marry form with function. The emphasis of the GOOD DESIGN program is on quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetics—a standard beyond ordinary consumer products and graphics. The annual award forwards the ideals of a design process that embodies product excellence, endurance and strong public identity. This year, the Museum received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers as well as industrial and graphic design firms representing the most important and critical mass of influential corporations in the design industry from over 55 countries.
