    Midmark RTLS expands Epic Toolbox presence with CareFlow RTLS Staff Duress

    Healthcare organizations can now bring real-time, location-aware staff duress alerts into the clinical workflows caregivers already use, helping strengthen caregiver safety and emergency response.

    The designation reflects Midmark's commitment to connected clinical workflows and provides healthcare organizations with an integrated staff safety solution that helps security teams respond more quickly during workplace violence events. 

    Designed to work within the clinical workflows caregivers already use, CareFlow Staff Duress integrates with Epic using HL7 FHIR-based APIs, enabling Midmark RTLS badges to send real-time, location-aware staff duress alerts directly into Epic. With the discreet press of a badge button, caregivers can quickly request assistance while providing responders with critical information about who needs help and where they are located—helping accelerate response during workplace violence events. 

    When a caregiver activates a staff duress alert via their badge, Epic receives the staff member's identity and real-time location from CareFlow RTLS. Epic then notifies designated security response and informational groups through its push notification framework, helping teams quickly assess, coordinate and respond to the situation. Responders can also acknowledge or decline alerts directly within Epic, supporting a more efficient and connected emergency response workflow.
